In response to the recent increase in outbreaks, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced a Phase 5 pandemic alert for swine flu on April 29, 2009.
WHO Characteristics of Pandemic Alert Phase 5:
There has been human-to-human spread in a minimum of two countries in a WHO region.
There is a strong possibility of a widespread epidemic.
The time to develop, communicate and implement a plan to reverse the situation is short.
SSC Service Solutions is here to provide you with the information you need to protect yourself and others around you from swine flu. Please follow these tips to help prevent infection:
Use disinfectants with virucidal, specific influenza A and/or avian flu claims.
Wipe down common areas often, as the virus that causes swine flu can live on hard surfaces for more than two hours.
Use good, thorough cleaning procedures at home and work.
Wash your hands and/or use hand sanitizer frequently to prevent the spread of germs.
Avoid contact with persons who are sick.
If you would like more information on the swine flu or SSC stock items recommended for disinfection, please contact Justin Bolli by email at justin.bolli@sscserv.com.
